"F&I Superstar" - 5 Ways To Get There

So, you want to become an F&I Superstar, or achieve Master status? This 5-part series will help keep you focused on the intangibles that will help get you there. A word of caution, these are reserved only for professionals who are proactive in their professional advancement and are serious about accelerating their performance and earnings. You’ve been warned.

1. Make It Easy For Your Customers & Peers To Do Business With You:

4. Manage Your Time Wisely

The responsibilities and interruptions that an F&I manager encounters every day are never ending. If they’re not delivering vehicles, they’re answering phone calls, working deals, trying to get loans approved and so on it goes.  But an effective F&I manager shouldn’t let these interruptions control them.

The top Business Managers work at time management each day, so the process doesn’t overwhelm them. Those who don’t always seem to be stressed out and running behind.  They don’t have the energy to present their products with enthusiasm and cope with the adversity they are certain to encounter.

Here are some ideas to help you through the day with time management:

Keep priorities in front of you.  To do lists are great to keep a written account of what you must accomplish, but that’s not enough. If not used correctly they will confuse activity with results. Pick two or three tasks each day that absolutely must be finished before you leave that day. This way you are certain to get the priorities finished.

What is the most valuable use of my time now?
This is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself when it is time to move on to the next task. This way you make sure that you’re always being productive.

Plan your work and work your plan.
Take a few minutes a day and schedule your activities for the day. This way you’ll accomplish activities that are the most important, and you won’t forget doing something that needs to be done that day.

5. Continue Training On A Daily, Weekly, Monthly Basis

Lovebug Season = Big $$$

Love Bug Season

Love bug season is here which presents us F&I professionals with the first of two annual opportunities to boost our environmental sales and profits. While our interior/exterior programs, such as the new and improved UDS Diamond Finish program which features Nano Diamond Ceramic technology, offer customers incredible protection against a variety of factors, the potential damage presented by insects is uniquely unavoidable. In other words, if you drive your vehicle, you will collide with love bugs and have a car full of their highly acidic and corrosive remains. The harmful effects of love bugs, and all insects, to automotive paint has been widely documented, such as this story from the Orlando Sentinel, concluding unanimously that an investment in protecting the paint is mandatory.
